Below is a list of things you may need to remember and do before your special day please feal free to bookmark this page and use it as a checklist for your wedding:
 
• Decide on the size, budget, style and setting

• Decide how wedding expenses will be shared 

• Compile a guest list (perhaps you might need two lists - one for the day, one for the evening) 

• Use your list to determine where you can have the wedding venue/reception 

• Book the registrar, if required 

• Choose your wedding party; brides-maids, best man, page boys, flower girls and ushers 

• Reserve a date and time for the wedding venue. 

• Decide what music you want for the venue, and book the band/DJ 

• Book the wedding Car/cars 

• Book your photographer 

• Book your videographer (if required) 

• If you require external caterers - make your selection and book the date 

• Shop together for the wedding rings. Consider having them engraved 

• Pick a colour scheme for your wedding 

• Start shopping for your choice of bridal outfit, bridesmaids, grooms and grooms party 

• Help mothers co-ordinate and find their wedding day clothing 

• Discuss your requirements with a florist - sizes, colours, corsages etc. 

• Shop for grooms suit 

• Order your wedding cake 

• Discuss your florists requirements and book the date 

• Finalise the menu and price at the reception venue 

• Select the wine/alcohol requirements for both the meal and pre-reception/toasting 

• Decide on any special bar arrangements - such as cash/credit/special drinks

• Choose your bridal gift wishes. Register lists with chosen stores/shops

• Send invitations to wedding guests with RSVPs. Perhaps include a response card

• Decide and book your honeymoon destination and duration

• Book holiday time for the wedding/honeymoon with your employers

• Ensure, if relevant, you have the required visas, vaccinations and passports

• Reserve a date/time for the ceremony rehearsal

• Arrange accommodation for out-of-town guests. Negotiate special rates at chosen hotel

• Arrange for a fitting of the wedding gown

• Ensure the wedding party have their fittings at the chosen shop/hire shop

• Finalise the reception decor

• Select the bridal stationary - invitations, guest book, thank-you cards, table name badges

• Arrange any special table decorations and printed menu's

• Select and order gifts for "give-aways' on the day for wedding party and contributors

• Bride should choose a regular hairdresser and experiment with hairstyles

• Book final appointments with hairdresser and beautician

• Buy a book to record gifts received and ensure you send thank-you notes

• Purchase a special gift for your fiance/fiancee 

• Plan your preferred music selection for; champagne pouring, tossing of bouquet, first dance etc.

• Shop for your going away and honeymoon clothes

• If you plan to change your name - notify your friends, bank, building society, work, doctor etc.

• Chase up late invitation replies

• Finalise plans for the entertainers, bands, DJ. Finalise list of songs you would like played/when

• Finalise plans for the car hire

• Finalise plans for the photographer/videographer

• Finalise plans for the church/wedding venue

• Finalise plans for the reception, florists, bakers

• Pick up the wedding rings from the jeweller

• Organise your wedding party and assign tasks to be done on the day

• Place your wedding announcements in the newspaper

• Have your stag night and hen night

• Arrange for somebody to collect the flowers

• Arrange for somebody to collect the morning suits

• Inform you caterer/reception venue about final guest count

• Buy cake boxes for your guests unable to attend

• Have your wedding ceremony rehearsal

• Pack for honeymoon. Confirm hotels and collect flight tickets

• Purchase travellers cheques. Get currency

• Ensure you have all Visas, passports, etc. 

• Inform the ceremony and reception venue's management about your wedding day programme

• Make sure all the wedding attire fits

• Allow plenty of time to put your make-up on/style your hair

• If photographs are to be taken before the ceremony allow 1 hour for them

• Remember to bring the rings

• Groom should arrive at the ceremony one hour before
